So, what’s the deal here?

For the past two years I’ve been working tirelessly on a manga comic project under the working title Cat Claws and Hummingbird Feathers. The story is one that is that I am deeply passionate about but production hasn’t been without speed bumps along the way. I created this website to document the creation of this comic and to help you with your own comics/manga projects by letting you learn with me.

I say “learn with me” instead of saying I’ll post “how to” because I don’t want the pretense of coming from a place of expertise. I’m just a hobbyist who is obsessive about learning to draw and write. I’ve read and watched countless tutorials and my bookshelves are overflowing with “how to” tomes. Despite this, I repeatedly run into situations where I’m at a complete loss for how to proceed and I need to figure things out for my myself. As I overcome these obstacles I’ll share what I’ve learned with you to hopefully make your creative life a little easier.

Also, yes I will be posting about my comic, it’s plot, and characters.

Often I have a rough draft where I’ve a already tried out different color combinations to decide what the final colors…

My Digital Art Illustration Process Part 1: From Sketch to Base Colors

I’m always trying to tweak the way I illustrate to be more effective and technically competent. Even seemingly simple things such as sketching and LineArt can be done in a number of ways each with its own pros and cons. In this post and it’s sequels I’m going to walk you through my thought process…
